What’s For Lunch?

Back to school also means back to a stringent weekly routine of packing lunches, running to after school activities and enforcing early bedtimes. We feel your pain and understand the stress this can cause in your life. No worries, Eat New Foods is here to help...well at least with the packing lunches part. Below is a fun handout to help you and/or your child to decide “What’s for lunch?”. Feel free to print it out and personalize it with your dislikes and favorite foods that are not listed.

Apple Picking Season!!🍎🍏🍎

With the arrival of Fall, the northern hemisphere embraces everything pumpkin and pumpkin spiced! Well, pumpkins aren't the only produce getting love during this fall season. Apples are also ripe and ready for the season! One of my favorite ways to obtain these delicious apples are from a local fruit stands and directly from the farm. Yes, you can hand pick your own apples! To hand pick apples in Georgia, that means driving to North Georgia to get the crispest, sweetest and most delicious apples on planet Earth (🤔 if you disagree, prove me wrong😉)!

BJ Reeses farm (https://www.reeceorchards.com) in Ellijay, Georgia is a prime location for apple picking. When I went, they only had gala apples, but throughout the season they have multiple varieties. Not only do they have apples, but they also have pig races, cow milking stations, playgrounds and a wagon ride. If you don't have the privilege of living in Georgia, see the map below to find a state near you. Over half of the states in the USA grow apples within region of the states where the climate is moderate cool and has adequate rains.

If you go apple picking this season please post pics to social media with tag #ApplePickingENF and we will highlight them in our social pages!
